The purpose of the competition is to recognize, promote and support Sedona as a quintessential Southwest landscape photography destination. Our desire is to showcase talented local and visiting photographers who capture Sedona's dramatic summer monsoon skies and brilliant sunsets between the start of summer, June 21st 2010 and July 20th 2010. All photographs entered must be taken within that time frame. Submissions received prior to July 20th will be shown from July 2nd to July 20th on a rotating flat screen image show at the Sedona Arts Center's Community Exhibition Gallery located at 15 Art Barn Road.
WHO MAY ENTER
Contest is open to any photographer 18 years of age and up who photographs Sedona between June 21st and July 20, 2010.
WHAT MAY BE ENTERED | COMPETITION PERIOD
Entries must be natural color landscape photographs taken between June 21st and July 20th, 2010. Photographers may submit only one Entry Form, which can include up to three (3) images. Submitted pictures should be 72 dpi jpg files, sized approximately 900 pixels long side, medium quality. Winners will need to provide 300 dpi, high-resolution files. Photographs entered can have minor corrections, but must not contain elements derived from other images creating false subject renditions.
WHERE PHOTOGRAPHS MAY BE TAKEN

By Mail: Please fill out Entry Form, enclose your check for $10 and send to Red Rock Open Competition, Sedona Arts Center, P.O. Box 569, Sedona, AZ 86336. Please make sure to include all required information on your Entry Form. If possible also include photo title(s) and the location(s) where shots were taken.
Online By Email: Click on "Submit Button" below to begin the submission process. Please submit your $10 processing fee and fill out the online Entry Form. PROCESSING FEE
There is a $10 processing fee, which may be paid by clicking on the Submit My Entry button below or by mail enclosed with your Entry Form.
JUDGING
Sedona Photofest Competition entries will be judged based on technical merit, composition, use of light and the feeling the photo(s) evoke. The judging panel is comprised of a group of highly accomplished Sedona photographers. Winners will be announced at the "Awards Night Festivities, Food and Fotos" on Friday night, July 23rd. All participants are encouraged to join us on Awards Night.
RIGHTS & LICENSING
By entering the photographer grants Sedona Photofest non-exclusive rights to reproduce submitted photos for Sedona Photofest promotional, exhibition and educational purposes. Photographer retains all other rights. Whenever possible published/displayed images will be credited to the photographer.
SALES
Anyone expressing an interest in buying a winning photo should contact the Sedona Arts Center and we will contact the photographer.
PRIZES
Over a $1,000 in prizes will be awarded to First, Second and Third Place winners from A Day in the West and Sedona PhotoExpress. Prizes include matted and framed prints of the winning images as well as a choice of family tours offered by A Day in the West.
