From traveling and documenting many native cultures throughout the world, we'll explore storytelling from a global perspective. The instant one engages with an image, there should be an immediate, almost visceral connection. Great art speaks in that silence without intellectualizing. It is elegant, primitive, present, and transformative. In my work I strive to arouse a deeper connection which will ignite the possibility that we can collectively transform the stories of our future.

Sedona International Film Festival Photofest Cinema Night

Resurrection: Glen Canyon and A New Vision for the American West
Based on the book of the same name; Resurrection - Glen Canyon and a New Vision for the American West, this film showcases the spectacular ecological rebirth of Glen Canyon as the water level of Lake Powell has receded due to a decade of drought. Produced by photographer James Kay after his five-year project to document the reemergence of these legendary canyons, the film combines over one hundred images of the restored canyons with historical film clips from Glen Canyon before it was flooded and offers insight into present-day concerns about the West's diminishing water resources and how climate change may already be affecting the over-
allocated waters of the Colorado River system. The film concludes with a hopeful message for the future of the West and its rivers and describes how a decision to protect a reemerging Glen Canyon could encourage a cultural and political shift toward environmentally sustainable lifestyles and business practices in the United States.
Ansel Adams: A Documentary Film is written and directed by Ric Burns and co-produced by Sierra Club Productions and Steeplechase Films. For the centennial of the artist's birth, Burns has created an elegant, moving, and lyrical portrait of this quintessentially American photographer. The documentary weaves together archival footage, photographic images, dramatic readings of the artist's own writing, and interviews with leading photographers, historians, curators, naturalists, as well as Adams's family, friends, and colleagues, to tell the story of a man who was at once a visionary photographer, a pioneer in photographic technique, and an ardent crusader
for the cause of environmentalism.
